Authentic Friendship
[Meant to post this yesterday on the Feast of St. Thomas Aquinas. C’est la vie]
“We have entirely lost the understanding of authentic friendship in society. People are only used in order to fulfill certain needs.” - Fr. Paschal
So, this notion has been sitting on my heart for a long while (and in my drafts for a short while).
I firmly believe that we have diluted the notion of friendship in our society. I believe we call people our friends who are not authentically our friends. And on the flip side, people who really should be our friends, we don’t really treat in a way that a genuine friend deserves.

AMEN! I’ve been blessed with a true friendship in the last 18 months. It has changed my life, forced me to recognize the gifts God has given me, & challenged me to grow as a man to be who He wants me to be for others.
